At TruTrip, we want to make your journey as comfortable as possible. For many flights, you can select your seat directly during booking. When that's not possible, you can set a seat preference instead, so we still know what to book for you.
1. Selecting Your Seat During Booking
- For most flights, you can select your seat directly from the seat map shown during booking.
- If a seat carries an additional cost (e.g. extra legroom, preferred seats), the price is shown upfront, before you confirm.
- After selecting seats for all flight segments, you'll see a summary of your selections and the total price before you confirm.
2. When Seat Selection Isn't Available
Seat selection may not be always available for every airline or flight. When we can't show you a seat map:
- We'll ask you for a seat preference instead (e.g. aisle or window, and front, middle, or rear).
- If you've already saved a preference on your profile, it's loaded automatically — you can keep it or change it for this booking.
- For multi-leg trips, you can apply the same preference to all legs, or set a different one per leg.
- Setting a preference is optional — you can skip it if you'd rather not specify one.
You can also set your seat preference ahead of time from My Profile > Travel Preference > Seat Preference, so it's ready for every future booking.
How Seat Preferences Work
Your preference is a fallback, not a booking — here's what that means in practice:
- Will I get a seat? Not automatically. We'll use your preference to find the closest matching seat, but availability always depends on the airline.
- Can I still choose my own seat? Yes — whenever a seat map is available, you choose directly. Your preference only kicks in when there's no seat map, or if your confirmed seat later becomes unavailable.
- How much will I pay? If the matching seat carries a cost (e.g. extra legroom, preferred seating), it's added to your booking. We'll confirm pricing with you first if it isn't already shown in your booking summary.
- Will it need approval? Only if the seat is outside your company's travel policy. In that case, support will confirm approval (or your payment method, if paying personally) before finalizing.
- What if my preferred seat isn't available? We'll assign the closest match. If nothing close exists, support will reach out with alternatives before charging anything.
Viewing Your Assigned Seat
Once your booking is confirmed, you can view your assigned seat(s) on the My Trips page.
