Some countries require proof of a flight booking before they'll process a visa application. TruTrip lets you download a confirmation document for this purpose directly from an approved booking, without needing to fully commit or pay first.
Who this is for
Anyone who needs to show a held or pending flight booking to a visa office or embassy, before deciding whether to proceed with the trip.
Before you start
- Your booking must have gone through the approval flow and have a PNR held with the airline.
- This document is a confirmation for visa purposes, not a ticket. It does not guarantee your seat beyond the standard hold period.
How to download your confirmation
- Open the trips page and search for the booking you want a confirmation for.
- Look for the Download confirmation for visa purposes button on the booking details page.
- Select it. A PDF confirmation document will download, showing your held flight details.
- You'll then be asked: "Do you intend to take this flight once your visa is confirmed?"
- Yes — No further action is needed. Your booking continues as normal, under your organization's existing booking policy.
- No — You'll be guided to the cancellation flow to withdraw the booking request.
Why you're asked about your intent
This question helps TruTrip and your travel admin understand which held bookings are still active travel plans versus which are visa-only holds that should be released. Answering honestly helps keep flight holds available for other travellers and avoids unnecessary charges or holds on your account.
What happens if I select "No"
If you select no and proceeded with cancellation, your booking will immediately entered withdrawn state. Your booking request is no longer visible on the approver's list, and your booking status will be set to cancelled.
