The platform is organised around trips and bookings. This can get a little bit confusing so we'll try to break it down for you in this article.
What is a Trip?
A Trip is a container for related bookings eg flights, hotels, trains, and more. So you can treat them as a single journey. For example, if you have a business trip to Amsterdam, you can group all your flight and hotel bookings under one Trip. Organizing at the Trip level makes it easier to:
- Keep your itinerary organized in one place
- Consolidate invoices and expense reports
- Run analyses and insights across all bookings in a Trip
How to use Trips?
At the moment you can use the trips feature in two main ways: either merge two booking into one trip from the trips page, or by adding a new booking to an existing trip.
Merging two bookings into one trip from the trips page
If you have two separate bookings (eg flight to Amsterdam and a hotel in Amsterdam), you can merge them into one trip by going to the trips page.
Go to the Trips page from the top menu.
Click the three-dot (•••) menu on one of the trips you want to merge.
Select “Merge trips”.
Choose the other trip(s) you want to merge it with.
Review and confirm your selection.
📝 You can rename the trip if you'd like. If you leave it blank, we’ll display the default trip name.
Adding a new booking to an existing trip during check out
If you already have an existing trip (eg Flight to Amsterdam) and you create a new booking, you can add the new booking to the existing trip from the check out page as well.
Select your booking (flight, hotel, etc.) and proceed to the Checkout page.
Click on “Add to an existing trip.”
A pop-up will show your upcoming trips—select the one you want to add this booking to.
Confirm your selection.
Once confirmed:
The booking is grouped into the trip you selected.
Any labels from the existing trip will automatically apply to the new booking.
If you don’t select a trip, we’ll create a new one for you. You’ll also have the option to rename it before confirming.
🔒 You can only assign a booking to one trip at a time—multi-selection isn't available.
Other important details:
This feature works for all types of bookings—flights, hotels, trains, and more.
Renaming a trip is optional—we’ll use a default name if none is entered.
You can always split bookings later if plans change.
One you have multiple trips and bookings available, you can export transaction report CSV files based on a trip level as well. You can read more about that here.
