You can connect to your Workday account so that your employee data stays in sync automatically. no manual user management needed.
Right now, this integration is set up by our admin team on the back end (a self-serve setup flow is coming later). Getting started is simple:
Reach out to your TruTrip team and let us know you'd like to connect Workday. We'll take it from there — coordinating with you to get the connection configured and your first sync running.
How the connection works: Workday RaaS
Workday doesn't expose employee data to other systems by default. To connect TruTrip, your Workday admin needs to set up a RaaS report. RaaS stands for Reports-as-a-Service, a Workday feature that turns a custom report into a live REST endpoint that other systems (like TruTrip) can read from securely.
Setting this up involves:
- Creating a Workday Integration System User (ISU) — a service account with read-only access to worker data. This is the account TruTrip uses to pull employee records; it can't make any changes in Workday.
- Building an Advanced custom report in Workday with "Enable as Web Service" checked, and sharing it with the ISU above.
- Including the required fields in that report — see the field list below.
Your TruTrip contact will guide your Workday admin through each of these steps when you get started, so you don't need to figure it out alone.
What gets synced
Once connected, TruTrip will keep the following profile fields up to date automatically, using Workday as the source of truth:

What syncing does for you
- New employees in Workday are automatically provisioned as TruTrip users.
- Profile updates in Workday (name, department, etc.) are reflected in TruTrip.
- Departed employees are automatically deactivated in TruTrip when marked as terminated in Workday.
Because Workday is the source of truth, synced fields will show as read-only in TruTrip, they can only be updated from Workday.
