TruTrip is built on the foundation of full transparency and giving travellers and managers all the information available to make informed decisions.
When making bookings, we often encourage team members to book the "best" fare available. The term "best" is obviously up for interpretation, which why we share alternative fares during the approval process.
How it works
At the time of booking, any alternative fares for flights and hotels is stored and attached to the booking.

Alternative flights are selected based on the departure time of your chosen flight and ranked by a combination of price and travel duration. The time window for alternatives depends on the length of your trip:
Short trips (less than 3 days): Alternatives within ±2 hours of your selected departure time
Medium trips (3–7 days): Alternatives within ±3 hours
Long trips (more than 7 days): Alternatives within ±6 hours
For hotels, alternatives are based on price, refundable vs. non-refundable rates, and inclusions like breakfast or cancellation policies.
These comparisons are shown in two places:

Whenever a manager or admin reviews a booking, they will be able to view these alternative fares on the approvals details page.

During the beta, the fare information is for informational purposes only and limited to flights. We will be adding more advanced features to this soon.
Downloading the CSV export file
You can download a fare comparison CSV file from the bookings reports page.
The report will help you identify a few things:
- The booking with the details and the final cost for that booking.
- The “best” alternative found for that booking at that time with the cost (at the time for booking)
- A column with the calculated price difference.

What's next
Over the next few weeks we will be improving this feature further with,
- Improved fare comparison configuration, so that company admins can define their own ideal lowest logical fare and recommendations
