When travelling, you'll need documents. Make sure your travel documents in TruTrip are always up to date, as these are shared with airlines and hotels whenever you make a booking. You can manage your travel documents by clicking on your name in the top right menu -> My Profile -> Travel documents .
There are two document types you can add: Passport and Visa.
Whenever you make a booking, your selected passport details will automatically be shared with the airline or hotel for the reservation (saving you from the hassle of doing so).
It's possible to add multiple passports to your account. Make sure you set the most relevant one as primary.
It's highly important to double-check and make sure you've filled out the fields correctly. Enter your first and last names exactly as they appear in the code section of your passport, like so on the provided image above. Your name may appear differently on boarding passes, flight confirmations and other travel documents if this isn't filled out correctly. Maintaining consistency between your passport names and bookings is crucial for hassle-free check-in, security procedures, and immigration processes.
Other things to note when creating multiple passports:
- If you have multiple passports or nationalities, you can add both passports, but make sure you select the primary one (you can always select your passport during the booking process too).
- You can't change or edit your passport number once you've saved it (if you made a typo, you'll have to delete and create a new one).
- If you have a new passport (or your old one has changed), we recommend creating a new one and setting it as primary. There is no need to delete the old one, it might even come in handy when looking at old bookings.
Visa information
If you have visa(s) for specific countries in your passport, we always recommend adding them to your TruTrip profile. The visa information will only be used by us to help check your eligibility to enter your destination country during the booking process.
You can view your entry eligibility information when you are reviewing your flight booking, you can read more about it here .
ID card
When travelling in a fully domestic route, you can also select ID card as your preferred travel document, however pl ease make sure that your ID card is valid for travel in the respective country. E.g. if you are travelling between Penang and Kuala Lumpur, please make sure you have a valid Malaysian ID card.
You can also select ID card when making any hotel bookings, but please note your passport may still be required at the check in desk for identity verification especially when you are staying abroad.
When filling in your ID card details, please select the relevant issuing country, ID card number, and please take note of the first name and last name field. If your ID card does not separate between the two, typically the last word in your name is the family name. You can leave the expiry date empty if your ID card does not have expiry, you can also delete with backspace if you have inadvertently clicked on it.
